LeBron Raymone James Sr. (born on December 30, 1984) is an American professional basketball player with the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). King James, he's widely considered to be the most successful basketball player ever and is often is compared with Michael Jordan during debates about the greatest basketball player of all time. James was awarded four NBA championships and four NBA MVPs Three All-Star MVPs, and the two Olympic medals. James has scored the most points during playoffs and has the second most career points and is the seventh player with the most assists in his career. James has been named as an NBA All-Star 18 times to the All-NBA Team a record 18 times. He was also selected to the NBA All-Defensive First Team five times. He's played in ten NBA Finals the third most all time including eight consecutively between the years of 2011 and 2018. James made his way onto the NBA 75th Anniversary Team in 2021. He was the very first NBA player to reach 10,000 career points. James was a basketball player at St. Vincent St. Mary High School in his hometown from Akron Ohio and was heavily in the news media as a potential NBA superstar. In 2003, the Cleveland Cavaliers selected him with the number one pick of the NBA draft in 2003. Named the 2004 NBA Rookie of Year he soon established himself as one of the league's premier players winning his NBA MVP award in both 2009 and 2010. James was a free agency following his failure to secure championships for Cleveland. The decision to quit Cleveland to join Miami Heat, announced on the television show The Decision, is considered one of the controversial free-agent moves in sports history.
